"They bent over backwards for us. Everything done on time or before. After move-in, we had a couple of little problems and they came right back and fixed them. Johnson homes is a family operation; the kind you like to do business with.
We made several changes; one was to accommodate golf carts. Dennis told us about what it would cost, and didn't ask for money up front, he just did it and we settled up later. Everything came in the way he said it would; there were no surprises. In fact he said he may owe me a little money at the end, but I'm not worried about it.
We became a bit like like family. You just could not ask for nicer people and that's a big thing with building a house because you are in a relationship with the builder for a half a year.
We were deciding between two builders and I told my wife, "there is just something about this guy that I like". That made my decision. He gave me a price and said: "it will be this much or less depending on changes," and that's what it was. No surprises!

"In 2008 our family had the pleasure of building with Johnson Homes. We debated whether or not we should build or buy. We had built two homes in the recent past with what I would call "cookie cutter" builders, and we knew the only way to get exactly what we wanted was to work with a custom home builder. We prepared ourselves for a stressful year as our house was being built; but much to our surprise and delight, building this home was the most pleasurable experience we could have hoped for.
Our first surprise was to find out that Johnson Homes would be able to build our home in a much shorter time frame than we expected. Dennis committed to a timeline with completion dates for each phase of construction, each of which were met. One thing that was important to our family and one of the main reasons we decided to build rather than buy was the floor plan and details in the home. Dennis and Brian worked with us to ensure our plans were perfect for our family. Working with them throughout the building process we could see how important it was to them that we were 100% satisfied with our home. Another point of concern was workmanship. Having had issues with previous homes, it was comforting to know that Nate, Dennis or Brian were on the job site making sure every step of construction was to their standards. Additionally, Dennis and his team have stood behind their work as promised, there have only been a few minor items and on each occasion they responded timely and to our satisfaction.
Having been in our home for 2 years now we still love it as much as the day we moved in. We are so pleased with our decision to build with Johnson Homes that if we did not love our home so much we would build with them again! We are happy to open our home to anyone that would like to see what Johnson Homes has built for us, we are also happy to speak with anyone that may have questions regarding Dennis, his team, and our experience with them. Thank You so much for the beautiful new home you and your team built for us in the Winding River development. The building process went very smoothly and the end result exceeded all of our expectations. The quality and workmanship truly shows and the service after the sale is appreciated.
Since we were having this new home built while still living in New York we were a little apprehensive about not being on site for the building process. The numerous pictures and construction updates Brian sent via e-mail helped calm our fears. We had visited many other home builders in the area and dealt with a lot of high pressure salespeople who only cared about making a commission; before sitting down with you and having a relaxed discussion about our dream home. We quickly realized, that unlike the others, you were more concerned about building a quality home at a fair price that would be functional and meet our needs, rather than just making a sale, even in these tough economic times. Building a home with one of the large volume builders may have a small price advantage but the level of service, quality and the relationship we developed from building our home with you and your family was well worth it.
